Alex Pollitt is a current search and rescue helicopter captain flying the AW139 on behalf of the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard. His previous experience includes land-based and maritime operations with the UK Royal Navy, and since leaving the military he has operated in three different countries, specialising in search and rescue, including the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Caribbean areas of operation.

Advocate for the continuous improvement of Crew Resource Management and Human Factors training in aviation, he is a qualified EASA CRM Trainer and Examiner, with a particular interest in raising the profile of non-technical competencies and examining CRM concepts through the lens of rotary wing flying.

He holds an MSc in Human Factors in Aviation from the University of Coventry, an MA in International Liaison and Communication from the University of Westminster, and is currently a Visiting Fellow with the University of Cranfield in the UK, where he collaborates with human factors research in the aviation domain.

He is the author of both peer-reviewed studies and regular contributions to rotorcraft industry publications on human factors related topics.
